The British Band and Newcomer Royal Blood won the Best Art Vinyl Award in 2014.
Best Art Vinyl Award is coming in and the selection is stunning. The winner of the 2014 Best Art Vinyl Award is Brighton Band Royal Blood. The sleeve artwork of Royal Blood‘s self-titled debut album is an original piece of art by Dan Hillier. ‘Falls’ is inspired by the Victorian time period and is a key work of Hillier, and is defined by its surrealistic style. It’s another piece of the incredible success story Royal Blood has just experienced.
The award was established 10 years ago by Andrew Heeps. More than 12.000 people have voted for this year’s winner. Certainly shows the broad interest fans have for the vinyl record. After all, voting for your most loved vinyl of the year just gives fans a chance to be part of a band’s story.
FKA Twigs comes in second place.
In second place came FKA Twigs debut album ‘LP1’ with the work of London artist Jesse Kanda. Also in the top places of this year’s award charts are Future Island with their album ‘Singles’. As well as Foo Fighters with their newest album ‘8’.
The trend of vinyl records making a comeback is gaining momentum, and one of the events that supports this trend is the Best Art Vinyl Award.
